Video: In a series of videos, we will examine different sections of Iranian society and how prepared they are to survive the epidemic. In this first video, we talk about those who live in the margins of the cities. A quarter of Iran’s population lives on the urban margins, in slums, huts, and other temporary shelters. They are mainly poor, unemployed people, laid-off or seasonal workers, peddlers, and drug addicts. Many seasonal and low-paid workers have resorted to new forms of “housing”, and are sleeping under bridges, inside freshly dug graves and in the streets. Now, these marginalized bodies must #stayathome.
