Amsterdam encampment interviewed by Slingers Collective

On May 13th, 2024 both staff and students staged a walkout protesting the authorities’ crackdown on past pro-Palestine student protests. At the time of the interview, students have occupied the Law and Social Science building and the riot police is attacking them in the background. A week before the interview, the riot police forcefully dismantled a Gaza solidarity encampment on one of the university’s campuses during the night. Following this incident, additional pro-Palestine student protests have emerged at the university. Unfortunately, the walkout protest on Monday also came to an abrupt end as riot police once again intervened forcefully, dispersing the demonstrators.
